Well, the matted mess of a Shih Tzu with an old injury to his jaw was rescued from animal control by a local rescue group. The 150 plus Chihuahuas whose fate was in the hands of a judge have been turned over to Chihuahua rescue.

And, not only did a dog named Quentin amazingly survive the gas chamber at the pound but I just heard about a Shih Tzu who was hit by a car and hurt, who somehow was able to make it to the vet's office. You can find the story at the WKMG website. I guess it's possible that the injured dog was picked up by someone and dropped off at the vet's, and it just happened to be the same veterinarian who regularly cares for dog, but I'd like to believe it was just one smart Shih Tzu.
