I was checking my Sitemeter and I see most of you find this place by searching on specific phrases.

If you are here due to a search on dogs who need homes, (or dogs in need of a home, dogs that need a home, dogs that need homes), or adopt a dog, please, by all means, check Petfinder. Many rescue groups and shelters have webpages for their animals who need homes there. They have a search feature where you can enter the breed you are looking for and your location, and get a list of dogs available for adoption in your area.

Or you can just use the Petfinder search box below.

If you look to the left, you will see a picture of a dog listed on Petfinder. If you'd like more information on that particular dog, please click on the photo and you will be taken to his/her Petfinder page. You can also refresh your browser to see more dogs on Petfinder.

Another great website to try is Pets 911. Enter your zip code in the box to the left and you will be taken to the website, where you can find links to local dogs who need homes.

Both of these websites will work for the person who got here after searching for a website I can look at dogs I can adopt as well. :)

Since some of you are looking for specific dog breeds, I will post some links to their rescues as soon as I make up a list. For now, if you are looking for a Shih Tzu, please check my Shih Tzu rescue page. I still need to add a few more rescue groups but it's a start.
