Give a Dog A Home Chihuahuas in CA Need SupportAugust 02, 2003 9:55 a.m. Saturday There is a case out here in Southern California involving about 150 Chihuahuas who were taken from a backyard breeder last Fall and whose fate now rests in the hands of a judge. Some people feel the dogs are too anti-social to make good pets and they should be euthanized. Others feel that the dogs can be rehabilitated and have lined up many experienced dog rescuers to help. Nothing was decided at the last court date because the owner of the dogs refused to sign over ownership to the woman who runs a local Chihuahua rescue group so the judge set another court date for August 5th. There is more information about this sad situation and ways you can help at Angels on Death Row. Right now they are asking for letters in support of release of the dogs to the Chihuahua rescue group to be sent to the judge who will decide the fate of these dogs. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ UPDATE 8/8/03 -- All of these dogs have been turned over to Chihuahua rescue! Please check Angels on Death Row for more information.
